Kuwaiti Women's Affairs Committee Chairperson Sheikha Latifa Al-Fahd Al-Salim Al-Sabah lauded the role of women in social and political life in Azerbaijan.
"An Azerbaijani woman is actively involved in the social and political life of her country," she told Trend.
Al-Sabah is paying an official visit to Baku upon the invitation of the Azerbaijani State Family, Women and Children Committee.
An accompanying Kuwaiti delegation visited the graves of national leader Heydar Aliyev and academic Zarifa Aliyeva, as well as the Alley of Martyrs.
She will attend a round-table meeting on "Women in Islam: Achievements and Challenges" on Nov. 11.
Al-Sabah expressed hope that the ties between the two countries will further develop.
She added that the committee plans to organize a trip to Kuwait for a group of Azerbaijani children on an upcoming national holiday.
