Iran to host Int'l ECO Print and Packaging Exhibition

The Second International ECO Print and Packaging Exhibition will be held in Iran this spring, the Mehr news agency reported.
"The first ECO Print and Packaging Exhibition was held in Mashad," Iranian Print Industry Development Association Chairman Jalal Zakai said. "The exhibition is held every two years."
He added that the event helps guests to get to know the printing achievements of neighboring countries, as well as to expand cooperation in this field.
The exhibition is open to companies engaged in the printing business in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states.
The ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among member states. Its current members are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
In 1993, the U.N. General Assembly awarded observer status to the ECO. The Organization of Islamic Conference granted observer status to the ECO in 1994.
