Ukraine celebrates anniversary of Heydar Aliyev International Institute (PHOTO)

Ukraine hosted an event honoring the tenth anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations in Kiev today. The event was organized by the Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Ukraine with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kiev.

Ukraine hosted an event honoring the tenth anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations in Kiev today. The event was organized by the Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Ukraine with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kiev.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ukrainian Interregional Academy of Personnel Management Rector Igor Pilyayev said he is proud that an educational institution named after an individual as bright as Heydar Aliyev functions in Ukraine. He added that the Heydar Aliyev Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations is an exemplary education facility where thousands of local and foreign students are educated.

Additionally, Heydar Aliyev Institute of Social Sciences and International Relations Rector Ivan Bidzyura said he is pleased to direct a higher educational institution named after such an internationally renowned politician. He also noted Aliyev's exceptional merits in developing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Bidzyura expressed his gratitude to the Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Ukraine for organizing the event. He added that the Heydar Aliyev Museum will also open in the near future.

Speakers at the event included Azerbaijani Embassy Counselor Yegana Gafgazli and Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Ukraine Chairman Anar Tahirov, who noted that the providing a top level education at the institute is the matter of honor and responsibility.

The event was attended by over 300 local and foreign students. An Azerbaijani-Ukrainian documentary was also screened, titled, "Insanlara bagishlanan Omur" ("Life Presented to the People").
