Arms found at home of chairman of IPA Astara region organization

According to press service of Interior Ministry, Astara Region Police Department has conducted a search of resident Ruhulla Akhundzadeh’s yard and revealed a pistol, 4 Kalashnikov guns, 9 grenades, 10 portfires, 2 200 gr-TNT blocks, automatic magazines, 510 bullets. Note that, Ruhulla Akhundzadeh is the chairman of IPA Astara region organization.

According to press service of Interior Ministry, Astara Region Police Department has conducted a search of resident Ruhulla Akhundzadeh's yard and revealed a pistol, 4 Kalashnikov guns, 9 grenades, 10 portfires, 2 200 gr-TNT blocks, automatic magazines, 510 bullets. Note that, Ruhulla Akhundzadeh is the chairman of IPA Astara region organization.

Operational measures are continuing to detain Akhundzadeh.  

A preventive measure in the form of an arrest for three months was made this week in respect to Chairman of the illegal Islamic Party of Azerbaijan Movsum Samedov.

Samedov is accused of the violent seizure of power and the illegal purchase of firearms, as well as other crimes.

Weapons and ammunition were found at his store and at home of his relative, Dayanat Samedov.

During search operations conducted by law-enforcement agencies, ammunition and materials that promote religious radicalism were found at home of chairman of the Ganja organization of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan Yusif Alekperov on Jan. 14.

During the search operations, were found and confiscated one AKSU, one AK-74 with erased numbers, one AK-74 with a circumcised butt, one AKM, one AKM with erased numbers, one Uzi homemade, two shells, two grenades, two TNT bombs, one wick, 1,191 patrons of different caliber, six cartridges, one sword, three knives, a portable speaker and 4 mic to it, 38 posters of religious subjects, 17 books that promote religious extremism and 20 disks.
