The driver's license, issued in foreign countries in accordance with international standards, is valid on the territory of Azerbaijan within one year, the Head of Public Relations Department of the State Traffic Police Department of the Interior Ministry Kamran Aliyev told Trend.
He said that people, wishing to get the right to drive vehicles and trailers, owners of vehicles must obtain a driver's license in Azerbaijan after a year in accordance with the instructions.
"The driver's license may be issued to individuals after a medical examination, checking their theoretical knowledge and driving skills," he said.
He said that the theoretical exams on traffic regulations and practical examinations on driving skills can be held in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
