Iran registered 22,250 HIV affected people as of December 2010, the Mehr news agency reported. The Iranian new year begins in March. Of them 92 percent are men and 8 percent- women.

Iran registered 22,250 HIV affected people as of December 2010, the Mehr news agency reported. The Iranian new year begins in March. Of them 92 percent are men and 8 percent- women.

Some 2,746 people affected with this virus in 2010 and in 4,066 cases it led to fatal end.

Iran registered about 21,000 HIV affected people as of mid May 2010. According to unofficial data, the figure is 70-100,000 people.

The virus affected people hide this due to several reasons, including mentality and religion. One of the main reasons of the virus spread is that people are not aware of the virus at proper level.
