Two fairs were held on education, organized by the Baku Education Information Centre (BEIC), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and U.S. international private secondary schools.
The purpose of the April 14 fairs is to bring all interested persons together and provide them with necessary information about educational opportunities at many universities and private schools worldwide, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend. All interested persons, including pupils, students and their parents, were able to meet here with representatives from several foreign universities and private schools.
The U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Brayza thanked the representatives of BEIC for organizing this event.
"We are glad that this fair is attended by representatives of several prestigious universities of the U.S. The number of the Azerbaijani students studying in the U.S. increases year after year. Each year, this figure increases by 15 percent, which indicates that the U.S provides higher education that meets the requirements of international standards. We hope that this tendency will continue," Bryza said.
He said the US-Azerbaijan Education Center is expected to open in Baku in May. The Center will provide detailed information about educational opportunities in the U.S. It will be located in the Caspian Business Center on Str. Jaffar Jabbarli 44. American Councils and the organization IREX will also be located there.
