Azerbaijan, France mull development of cooperation

Azerbaijan and France can develop the cooperation in the museum field between the relevant agencies.
Azerbaijani Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Sevda Mammadaliyeva and French Guimet Museum Director Jacques Gies discussed the cooperation issues in Baku.
The sides noted the possibility of demonstration of the Azerbaijani art samples at the Guimet museum and the museum's exhibits at the exhibitions in Azerbaijan.
Gies proposed to sign a partnership agreement and develop concepts for events at the highest level under the next phaseof the cooperation.
Mammadaliyeva said the Azerbaijani State Museum of Art will host an exhibition of the ancient Azerbaijani art in late 2011 and invited Gies to take part in this exhibition, as well as in the opening ceremony of the new building of the Azerbaijani State Museum of Carpet- Applied Arts.
During his visit to Baku, which began on May 31 and will last until June 7, Gies has already visited the Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve, Icheri-Shahar State Reserve, Miniature Book Museum and Shirvanshahs Palace Complex.
He is also expected to visit the Modern Art Museum, Gala Archaeological-Ethnographic Museum Complex and State Museum of Musical Culture.
