Azerbaijan, Baku, July 7 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/
Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Diaspora
Nazim Ibrahimov expressed his attitude towards the statements that the 3rd Congress did not cover the problems of Azerbaijanis living in Iran.
"I do not accept comments, published in the press about the Iranian Azerbaijanis," Ibrahimov told Trend.
"The congress was attended by many of our compatriots from Southern Azerbaijan, who went to different countries of Europe, and they always occupy places of honor at our events. Therefore, these statements are wrong," said Ibrahimov.
He expressed the attitude towards the statements that the head of the World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC) Gulamrza Sabri Tabrizi was not invited to the event.
"We invited Gulamrza Tabrizi to the congress. But he was unable to attend the congress because of the health problems," said Ibrahimov.
III Congress of World Azerbaijanis started in Baku on July 5. Some Azerbaijani media reported that the congress did not cover the problems of Iranian Azerbaijanis.
