New charges brought against the founder and chief editor of "Xural" newspaper

Anti-Corruption Office under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan brought today a new charges against the founder and chief editor of "Khural" newspaper, Zeynalov Avaz Tapdig oglu. He is charged under articles 311.3.3 and 311.3.4 (bribery) of the Criminal Code.
During the investigation of the case have been identified other crimes, Zeynalov committed, the prosecutor's office told Trend on Saturday.
Thus, it was revealed that Zeynalov by threats in early 2008 received a bribe of $4,000 from citizens Mamedov Akif Shamil oglu and Mukhtarov Khanoglan Isa oglu.
In addition, in early 2010 by demanding bribes Zeynalov threats another citizen - Sabir Rahim oglu Tarverdiyev, and in July-August 2011 in the same way again extorted a bribe of 10 thousand manats from Ahmedova Gular Mikayil gizi.
In all cases, Zeynalov had threatened the victims with publication in his newspaper, "Xural" materials which may be detrimental to their honor and reputation.
Based on the evidence gathered Zeynalov charged under articles 311.3.2 (repeated bribery) 311.3.3 (bribery on a large scale) and 311.3.4 (bribery with threats) of the Criminal Code.
At the moment, criminal investigation continues. The public will be further informed about the results.
