The law-enforcement bodies released Iranian President's Media Advisor and IRNA News Agency Managing Director Ali Akbar Javanfekr, Mer News Agency reported.

The Tehran Court branch No 76 sentenced Javanfekr, who is also the editor-in-chief of Iran newspaper, for a one year in prison on Sunday. He was banned to conduct media activities for three years.

Earlier, Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that Javanfekr was arrested during a press conference by policemen and Judiciary System's officials. However after a while, it reported that Javanfekr was released after the negotiations between the Iranian Government and Judiciary System officials.

Earlier, IRNA reported that the personnel of Iran newspaper prevented the arrest of Javanfekr.

Javanfekr could apply to the Court of Appeal within 20 days, but Iranian Judiciary System decided to arrest him before his appeal.

Some IRNA employees, including the General Director Mosayyeb Naimi, were arrested during conflict with police officers, IRNA reported.

Javanfekr is charged of publishing subjects and pictures against Islamic norms on Khatoon special supplement.

Khatoon special supplement is published along with Iran newspaper.
