Azerbaijan trains experts for UNESCO

The Science Development Fund (SDF) under President of Azerbaijan and UNESCO started a three-day national training on "Science and technology statistics and indicators in the period of economic development" on Monday.
The purpose of the training-workshop is to study performance in science and technology, discuss trends in these indicators for developing countries, to study the promotion and use of objective indicators for the full state science and technology support, executive director Elchin Babayev told journalists.
According to Babayev, cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO has deepened in recent years.
Highly qualified personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, State Statistics Committee, State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent and Copyright Agency are participating in the training along with the staff of SDF. Upon completion of the training-workshop they will be awarded international certificates and will be used as a UNESCO experts in future, said Babayev.
