Azerbaijani artists’ works to be exhibited as part of Maiden Tower project (PHOTO)

On the eve of Novruz holiday the exhibition of works by renowned and young artists of Azerbaijan will be held in the National (Seaside) Park in Baku with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as part of Maiden Tower project.

On the eve of Novruz holiday the exhibition of works by renowned and young artists of Azerbaijan will be held in the National (Seaside) Park in Baku with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as part of Maiden Tower project.

The Foundation told Trend on Saturday the exhibition will feature works by artists Emin Asgerov, Vugar Muradov, Husein Hagverdi, Rashad Jabbarov, Namik Mammadov, Nazim Shamhorov, Elena Hagverdi, Hamida Melikova, Taleh Mirkazymov, Subhan Mammadov, Adil Yusifov, Shamo Abbasov and Muhammad Orujov. The singularity of this work lies in the fact that artists should reflect the theme of pomegranate on the Maiden Tower models.

International Maiden Tower Art Festival, held at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation by the Office of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve, Museum of Modern Art and the Qız Qalası Art Gallery is designed to promote Maiden Tower in the world, which is one of the symbols and the most ancient monuments of the Azerbaijani capital, included on UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This festival is successfully held in the capital for the second time. More than 40 international artists attended the previous one.

This project provides a unique opportunity to show in different countries works of the masters of the brush, dedicated to the ancient monument of the capital of Azerbaijan - Maiden Tower, and thereby to promote it in the world. It is encouraging that the number of participants of the exhibition is growing every year, and its exhibits have already been demonstrated in different countries.

International Maiden Tower Art Festival will open in Baku in May. Artists from more than 20 foreign countries will attend it.
