Correspondent member of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, professor Dr. Yagub Mahmudov's monograph "Azerbaijan and Europe: medieval diplomatic relations (the period of the states Akkoyunlu and Safavi)" (2010) was published in English in New York City of the USA and in Russian in Moscow of the Russian Federation.
This book consists of 6 chapters and more than 600 sources and literatures in different languages concerning to Safavi and Akkoyunlu states were used here. The book is about the scientific importance of studying of relations with European countries and Aghgoyunlu and Safavi states, the historical reasons for the relations of Azerbaijan and European countries, the role of economic and political factors in this relations, Azerbaijan - European relations in the second half of the XV - early XVII centuries international relations of that period and other issues.
The book introduces English and Russian-speaking readers of the world with the bright pages of Azerbaijan history. 8 maps at the end of the book show the boundaries of historical states of Azerbaijan.
These maps of the result of research for many years are strong response to those who try to falsify the history of Azerbaijan. Maps in this book, as well as, discovering the historical truth, the borders of the countries were shown in the period of Nadir Shah Afshar and the Safavi ruler Shah Abbas I and it was proved, those well-known historical personalities were rulers of Azerbaijan. There was also a modern map of Azerbaijan Republic in the book, in order to compare the areas in previous historical years, and occupied areas of Qarabagh by Armenians were shown there.
