Former speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Murtuz Alesgerov died on Tuesday.
Alesgerov was born in Ganja city on Sept.20, 1928.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Azerbaijan State University. Since 1954, he had served as a senior lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University, then an associate professor, and since 1957 he had served as head of subdepartment.
In 1993-1996 he was rector of Baku State University.
From 1996 to 2005 he was chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament.
In the last years of his life he served as lecturer at Baku State University.
