The second International Congress of Russian speaking broadcasters started on Tuesday in Yalta (Ukraine), a special correspondent of Trend reported.

The second International Congress of Russian speaking broadcasters started on Tuesday in Yalta (Ukraine), a special correspondent of Trend reported.

The congress brought together leaders, journalists and experts from radio stations around the world broadcasting in Russian. Also included are representatives of the media community, heads of educational centres in the field of mass media. Azerbaijan was represented at the Congress by Trend International News Agency and Day.Az Media Company.

The main purpose is to exchange experiences between Russian speaking broadcasters from many countries, the head of the International Association of Russian speaking broadcasters Oleg Kupriyanov said at the opening of the forum in the Yalta Hotel. "We tried to create a programme that will build a more informal communication between members of the Congress," Kupriyanov said.

Greetings and good wishes to the Congress delegates from the chairman of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov were read at the opening.

The next General Meeting of the International Association of Russian speaking broadcasters which is scheduled to consider the current problems of cooperation and accept new members will take place within the congress. Round table professional discussions on new ideas and proposals for cooperation between the Russian speaking broadcasters from around the world will be held over three days.
