Body of Sevinj Babayeva, who died at a Turkish hospital Medicana International of heart failure has been delivered to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, Cihan agency reported on Saturday.
Delivery of Babayeva's body from the hospital to Institute was carried out under supervision of Istanbul police officers and prosecutors.
As previously reported, Babayeva died of heart failure at Turkish hospital Medicana İnternational.
On September 25, the media were distributed video footage in which a former rector of the Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev discussing with member Gular Ahmadova Sevinj Babayeva involving a sum of money, supposedly necessary for the election of his deputy.
In this regard, the Baku City Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case under Article 178.3.2 (fraud, that is, the acquisition of another property or buying another property by deception or abuse of trust with big damage) of the Criminal Code and conducted the investigation.
Spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov told that on Thursday at 16:00 Eldar oglu Mamedov Ayhan called the prosecutor's office in Baku and said that his mother Sevinj Babayev died from heart disease in a hospital in Istanbul.
The video with former Azerbaijani University rector Elshad Abdullayev and MP Gular Ahmadova was spread by online media outlets on September 25th. Abdullayev gave a large sum of money to Gular Ahmadova to get elected to parliament.
The Baku City Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal case under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code on the matter. An investigation is underway.
