New vice-presidents and members of the Presidium of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) were elected at the general meeting of the National Academy of Sciences held on Wednesday.
The Presidium members are Academician Akif Alizadeh, Arif Gashimov, Naila Valikhanli, Jalal Aliyev, Vagif Farzaliev, Akif Hajiyev, Nadir Seyidov and Kamal Abdullayev.
Four vice-president positions were established. First Vice-President position is not provided.
As Vice-President of ANAS Presidium elected worked in ANAS, Former Presidium member, Academician Akif Hajiyev, former deputy director of the Institute of Geology Ibrahim Guliyev, formerchairman of Nakhchivan State University Isa Habibbayli and Academician Tofig Naghiyev became vice-presidents of the Academy.
Former vice-presidents of ANAS were Arif Gashimov, Naila Valikhanli and Akif Alizadeh. The last one was recently elected the President of ANAS.
Director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS Rasim Aliguliyev was elected the academic secretary of ANAS.
Professor Ahliman Amiraslanov, Garib Mammadov, Akif Hajiyev, Fakhraddin Gadirov and Ilgar Tagiyev became the academic secretaries of the Departments of Biological and Medical Sciences, Agrarian Sciences, Physical, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences, Earth Sciences , and Chemical Sciences, respectively.
