347 generals, 40,000 officers, 97,100 sergeants and 369,500 ordinary soldiers are serving in the Turkish Armed Forces, a General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces statement, posted on its official website, said.
According to the report, of the total number of generals, 314 serve in the Central Command, 32 generals - in the gendarmerie, and one - in the Coast Guard.
33,500 officers and 72,900 sergeants serve in the Navy, Air Force and Army of Turkey. 5,800 officers and 22,800 sergeants serve in the Turkish Gendarmerie. 601 officers and 405 sergeants serve in the Coast Guard.
As for the reserve officers, 4,200 reserve officers serve in the Central Command of the Turkish Armed Forces, 475 - in the Gendarmerie and 16 - in the Coast Guard.
