New programmes developed in Azerbaijan for students of pedagogical universities

By Ilhame Isbalayeva - Trend: As from next year, students receiving education on pedagogical professions in Azerbaijan will be studying in line with new programmes, Azerbaijani Ministry of Education told Trend on Nov.
The ministry has developed new generation training programmes for teacher training at undergraduate level.
The assessment of these programmes has already been carried out. It is expected that after their approval, they will be used in teaching from 2014.
The new programmes are aimed at receiving of the knowledge and skills by students and the development of their respective abilities.
Some 15,030 people submitted applications for 3286 teaching vacancies at secondary schools and colleges in the 2013/2014 academic year in Azerbaijan. Only 1,474 were able to get the job.
Azerbaijani Education Minister Mikayil Jabbarov noted that the level of preparation and performance of university graduates and teachers who want to work is not satisfactory.
