All sports societies and those people working in the field of sport are directing their efforts and thoughts towards the first European games to be held in Baku in 2015. This work is underway, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov told the media on March 5.
"Azerbaijan will be fully ready to host the European games," the minister said.
"We expect the biggest and most grandiose event, namely the first European games in 2015."
Confidence was expressed that the most beautiful, the most ambitious games will be held in Baku.
The Day of Physical Culture and Sports is being celebrated today. In this regard, staff at the Ministry of Youth and Sports headed by Minister Azad Rahimov visited the Alley of Honours to pay tribute to great leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers on his grave. Prominent scientist, ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated and flowers were laid on her grave.
