A grand testing gymnastics tournament will be held in Baku on the eve of the first European Games in 2015, Vice-President of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG), General Secretary of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF), Farid Gaibov said at a press conference on the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship in Baku on June 12.

"We will hold a test tournament on six gymnastic disciplines in March 2015 in the same manner as the first European Games," he said.

"As for the current tournament, we are checking the work of the Olympic Village together with the Organizing Committee of the European Games here."

The first European Games will be held in Azerbaijan's Baku in June of 2015.

"All delegations were satisfied with the quality of accommodation in the Olympic Village," he said, adding that delegations from 30 countries were accommodated in the village.

"Only two of 13 buildings are used during the European Championship, but this did not affect the conditions created for athletes. They are much better than in any hotel."

Gaibov also noted the location of the village, which is located directly across the National Gymnastics Arena. The arena is near the under-construction arena, where the first European Games will take place.

The Jubilee Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship will be held in the national gymnastics arena in Baku on June 13-15. Some 258 gymnasts from 33 world's countries will compete for the nine sets of awards.
