Azerbaijan ranked 76th among 187 countries on the human development index in the UN report Human Development 2014, according to a statement posted on the website of the UN Development Program (UNDP).

Azerbaijan ranked 76th among 187 countries on the human development index in the UN report Human Development 2014, according to a statement posted on the website of the UN Development Program (UNDP).

When calculating the index, the average life expectancy in the country, education level, health status, an opportunity of getting education, the gross national income and GDP per capita and other data are taken into account, according to the report.

Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Netherlands, United States are the top five countries on the Human Development Index, according to the report.

Azerbaijan ranked 76th in the report.

The average life expectancy in the country is 70.8 years, while gross national income per capita - $15,725, according to the report.

Azerbaijan ranked 82nd in the UN report for 2013.
