One of the factors causing the landslides in Azerbaijan is anthropogenic, Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov told reporters Dec. 24.
"At present, the landslide areas are not activated in Azerbaijan," he said.
"The landslide zones must be explored during the archaeological excavations," he said.
Bagirov said that the landslide zones in Azerbaijan are usually activated in autumn.
"It is necessary to take into account the technological, anthropogenic factors and peculiarities of the territories during the excavation and construction work," Bagirov said.
