Joint Azerbaijan Championships among Age Categories in Artistic Gymnastics and Acrobatic Gymnastics kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena on Dec.3.

The sports event will last three days.

On the first day of the championships, the field of play will be at the disposal of acrobats, representing Baku Gymnastics School, "Neftchi" sports club and Sports Schools of Nizami district.

Acrobats aged 12-18 (juniors) and included into the compositions of men's and mixed pairs, men's and women's groups will demonstrate balance, dynamic and combined exercises. But the women's pairs and groups belonging to 11-16 age group will only execute balance and dynamic exercises. In total, 43 gymnasts will take part in the tournament.

Next day, there will be held the events of the Olympic sports representatives - women's artistic gymnastics. Girls included into "youngsters" (2003-2005), "children" (2006-2007), "minors" (2008-2009), as well as "beginners" (2008-2010) age groups will compete in the all-around.

Baku Gymnastics School, "Neftchi" and "Ojag Sport" club will support their athletes throughout the tournament.

The fans of the abovementioned sports societies will be joined not only by the representatives of the National Olympic Sports Lyceum but also by Sumgayit and Balakan, since the boys from these societies and regions commence their performances on December 5. Juniors (1998-2000), pre-juniors (2001-2002), youngsters (2003-2004), children (2005-2006) and minors (2007-2008) will also be awarded in the all-around.

In total, 62 athletes will compete among men and women.
