SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic) has allocated 15,000 manat in a lump as the compensation to the families of oilmen missing in the waters of the Oil Rocks field in the Caspian Sea, the company said Dec. 17.
The fire occurred at the Gunashli field, a strong storm washed a booth on the platform #501 of the Oil Rocks down into the sea Dec. 4.
At that moment, there were three oilmen in the booth - Javad Khudaverdiyev (44), Bahman Jafarov (54) and Rovshan Mammadov (41). They are considered missing.
The search is underway.
