Trial over former head of International Bank of Azerbaijan postponed

The consideration of an appeal of the former head of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev has been postponed.
Hajiyev made an appeal regarding the decision of the Narimanov District Court to reject an appeal concerning the detention under house arrest. This appeal was to be considered Dec. 18.
But as Hajiyev did not come to the trial for unknown reasons, the process was postponed, Hajiyev's lawyer Agil Layijev told Trend.
Hajiyev is charged under various articles of the Criminal Code, including the misappropriation, the abuse of office, fraud by causing huge damage, embezzlement through the abuse of office, bribing. According to the decision of the Narimanov court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of four months was chosen.
