Spanish gymnasts hope to win two medals at the World Cup in artistic gymnastics to be held Feb. 19-21 in Baku, head coach of the Spanish national team in artistic gymnastics Fernando Siscar told Trend Feb. 17.

World cup is an important event in the world gymnastics, thus the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG) will send to Baku its representative - member of the Technical Committee in Men's Artistic Gymnastics from Germany, Holger Albrecht, who follows the course of the events with German precision and controls the objectivity of judges in this subjective sports discipline.

President of the FIG Technical Committee in Women's Artistic Gymnastics, Olympic Champion Nellie Kim will also visit Baku.

Baku tournament will be in the limelight of local and foreign mass media. It is expected that the championship will widely be covered in Japan, which delegates a team of reporters and television journalists.

"We hope we will be able to reach the finals on the four types of events and expect to win two medals," Siscar said.

"We have already visited Baku to participate in the first European Games, and then our athlete Rayderley Miguel Zapata won the gold medal in men's floor exercise," the coach said. "Therefore, the National Gymnastics Arena is familiar to us, we believe that it is just ideal for competitions and we would like to repeat our success."

"We arrived early in the morning, spent the whole night on our way, so we gave a rest to the gymnasts," Siscar said.
