The Volunteers Program of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe and the Volunteer Students program of Azerbaijan's Education Ministry signed a memorandum of cooperation March 7.

The event was held at the Volunteer Center of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe with participation of Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov and Education Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

The document was signed by the ministers.

The parties agreed to join efforts in volunteer activities at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe.

Addressing the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said that the volunteer activities of the youth have become a tradition in Azerbaijan.

"The interest of the youth in volunteer activities is growing," said the minister. "The young people, who worked as volunteers in the large-scale events hosted by Azerbaijan, have achieved great success."

Rahimov also expressed hope that this tradition will continue at a high level in the upcoming events.

The minister noted that the country's leadership appreciates the activities of volunteers in Azerbaijan.

In turn, the Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov said that strengthening the cooperation in volunteer activities will contribute to the success of the F1 Grand Prix of Europe.

"Voluntary participation of students in large-scale sports events makes us glad," said Jabbarov. "As the Ministry of Education, we support the comprehensive development of students."

The 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe will be held on June 17-19 in Baku.
