Supreme Court of Azerbaijan has passed a judgement March 28 to release Azerbaijani 'Legal Education Society' head Intigam Aliyev, the head's lawyer Javad Javadov told Trend.
The court sentenced Aliyev to a five-year conditional sentence, he said.
The court's decision was made on the basis of the cassation appeal by Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov.
Aliyev was arrested on August 8, 2014. He is charged with article 213.1 (tax evasion), 308.2 (abuse of power) and 192.2 (illegal entrepreneurship) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
