A badminton race has been held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The competition held on the eve of the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day aims to promote the game of badminton, increase the interest to the type of sports in UNEC and encourage young people to a healthy lifestyle.
60 students competed in the race organized among the schools. I place among women badminton players was achieved by the student of the School of Commodity Research Anna Jzeleznyak; II place by the student of the Russian School of Economics Anelya Balabayeva and III place by the student of the School of Economics Sara Nazirli.
Student of the School of Economics Gurban Gurbanov became I among men badminton players. Students of the Russian School of Economics Maharram Maharramov took II and Omer Azizli III places.
First place in the mixed pairs competition was achieved by the student of the Russian School of Economics Omer Azizli and the student of the Commodity Resaerch Anna Jzeleznyak. Winners of II place were the students of the School of Economics Gurban Gurbanov and Sara Nazirli. III place was occupied by the student of the Russian School of Economics Maharram Maharramov and the student of the Schhol of Economics Arzu Zeynalli.
Students of the Russian School of Economics were distinguished with a special activity and became I of the race; II place School of Economics and III School of Commodity Research.
Winners were awarded diplomas and gifts.
The organizers of the tournament are the Sports Club “Sportsman” and Student Youth Organization of UNEC.
