Azerbaijan will host the European polo championship in 2020, Bahruz Nabiyev, secretary general of the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan Republic, told reporters in Baku.
During the meeting of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, it was decided to hold a continental competition in Azerbaijan.
Nabiyev noted that the Azerbaijani national team is now at a training session in Argentina.
“We have a national polo team which consists of the Chovgan game players. Chovgan competitions give us the opportunity to choose new players for the national team. After these competitions, several players will be selected and a second team will be formed,” he added.
