Azerbaijani gymnasts advance to finals at Baku 2017

Azerbaijani gymnasts Marina Durunda and Zhala Piriyeva advanced to finals in exercises with clubs and ribbon at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

In exercises with clubs, Piriyeva scored 16.050 and qualified for finals from the second place, while Durunda scored 15.600 and qualified from the third place.

Moreover, the following gymnasts advanced to finals in exercises with clubs: Uzbekistan’s Anastasia Serdyukova and Sabina Tashkenbaeva, Lebanese gymnast Alissa Sadek, Turkish gymnasts Ecem Cankaya and Selen Bektas and Indonesian gymnast Wahyu Putri.

In the exercises with ribbons, Piriyeva qualified for finals from the first place by scoring 16.100, while Durunda advanced to finals from the third place by scoring 15.200.

Moreover, the following gymnasts advanced to finals: Anastasia Serdyukova and Sabina Tashkenbaeva from Uzbekistan, Turkish gymnasts Ecem Cankaya and Selen Bektas, Lebanese gymnast Alissa Sadek, as well as Syria’s Dina Alshikh Ali.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
