Operational search activities were conducted at the frontier post in Sym village of Astara district of the Lankaran border guard unit of the Azerbaijani State Border Service.
As a result of those activities, Iranian citizen Shahbazi Akbar Dilaver was detained for the violation of the state border, the Azerbaijani State Border Service said in a message.
The search revealed 1.2 kilograms of heroin, 700 grams of opium, 200 tablets of psychotropic substance “pregabalin” and 15 packs of “meprotanum” pills.
As a result of the search, citizens of Azerbaijan Rovshan Akbarov, Khayala Valiyeva, resident of Lankaran district Parviz Mammadov, were detained when attempting to get the drugs.
