Meeting held with Azerbaijanis living in Dubai
BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 10
As a part of the visit to the United Arab Emirates, delegation of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora (SCWD) met with the Azerbaijanis living in Dubai, the largest city in the UAE.
The meeting was held at the Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Dubai with the participation of dozens of out compatriots.
The meeting began with our national anthem, then a video clip on the activities of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora was demonstrated.
Chairman of the State Committee Fuad Muradov informed the participants about the activities of the Committee, implemented projects- establishment of Coordination Councils in different countries of the world, Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth, founding of Azerbaijani houses and weekend Karabakh schools and other important projects.
The delegation and participants exchanged views, especially on the proposals and problems of Azerbaijanis living in Dubai during the meeting. Our compatriots emphasized the importance of opening an Azerbaijani school in the city where they live, organizing language courses or their online teaching.
It was noted that the visit of the leadership and staff of the Committee to Dubai is very important for bringing together our compatriots here and it is necessary that these visits be regular.
Azerbaijanis, who hold various positions in Dubai, said that such meetings would play an unreplaceable role in terms of getting to know and helping young people here.
The issue of establishment a Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis living in Dubai in the future was also discussed and inclination of compatriots for organizing here attracted attention.
Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Dubai Javidan Huseynov highly appreciated the meeting with the Azerbaijanis living in Dubai and emphasized that such meetings play a peerless role in promoting Azerbaijan and organizing of our compatriots.
