BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. My dream is to become an Olympic champion, winner of the gold medal in Individual All-Around at the 27th Baku Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Ojag Sports Club’s gymnast Nargiz Aliyeva told Trend.

She won the 'gold' in the youngster age category among gymnasts born in 2014.

"I'm more than happy to gain this victory. Even though I was worried before the performance, I managed to cope with anxiety and performed my program well," Aliyeva said.

The athlete added that the Championship was her first competition held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.

"This is the first time I'm performing at the National Gymnastics Arena. There are many fans, who actively support the gymnasts. My mother and sister were also among the spectators, and my gold medal was a great gift for them," she emphasized.

The 27th Baku Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics among Age Categories is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena on May 3-4.

Some 186 gymnasts representing nine clubs take part in the Championship. Athletes will compete in the individual program in the age categories of youngsters (born in 2012, 2013, 2014), pre-juniors (born in 2010-2011), juniors (2007-2009), while gymnasts within group exercises will compete in the age categories of youngsters (born in 2012-2014) and pre-juniors (2010-2011).

During the two-day competition, gymnasts will compete in the Individual all-around and in group exercises.
