BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Plein air event was held at Jidir Duzu in Azerbaijan’s Shusha with the participation of painters and sculptors called "Shusha. Spring legend", Trend reports.

People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor Arif Huseynov noted the great importance of the festival.

"Holding the first International Culinary Festival in cultural capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha is a historic event. The festival also hosted an extensive presentation of Azerbaijani culture and art in general, along with culinary arts. Interactive performance - "How a carpet is born" - by Azerbaijan’s Azerkhalcha and Azerbaijani Carpet Weavers’ Day were of particular interest for local and foreign guests,” Huseynov told Trend, while visiting Shusha for the festivities.

He said as part of the festival cultural traditions of people from around the world were represented.

"This brought different countries closer," he said. "Cooking is also a reflection of culture and national values ​​of peoples, the synthesis of which shows the whole bright palette of festival in Shusha."

The First Shusha International Culinary Festival was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the State Tourism Agency. The festival was held on May 5-8 with the participation of expert cooks from Germany, Austria, China, France, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Turkey, Japan, Belgium, Czech Republic, Canada, Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, and other countries.

Various economic regions of Azerbaijan were presented at the festival.
