RUSSIAN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE MINISTER’S VISIT TO AZERBAIJAN POSTPONED

The official visit of Andrey Fursenko, the Russian Education and Science Minister, to Azerbaijan was postponed, Misir Mardanov, the Azeri Education Minister, told Trend.

Initiated by the Azerbaijani Education Minister the talks will focus on prospects of the bilateral cooperation in the education sphere. The sides plan to
talk over mutual recognition of diplomas and cooperation prospects in science and engineering.

The two education ministers will also consider exchange of personnel, establishment of direct contacts between leading universities of Azerbaijan and Russia, provision of secondary schools and universities acting at the territories of both countries with textbooks and different literature.

The visit, earlier scheduled for early April, was postponed in connection with the tense business plan of the Russian Minister on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Victory over the fascism. The concrete date of the coming visit will be co-coordinated later.
