The World Bank (WB) вЂ"financed project on development of the health system in Azerbaijan is coming to end, the Health Ministry told Trend.
The WB allotted $5m to the project, which envisaged holding of trainings, conferences, repair work in hospitals, purchase of 5 ambulances, research on problems of health in 5 pilot regions such as Salyan, Shamkir, Khachmaz, Sharur and Goychay in 2001-2005.
Besides, the WB intends to approve a $50m credit for health reforms in Azerbaijan. 5 medical centers to render emergency aid will be constructed in the regions within the credit. The repayment of the 50-year and interest-free credit will start after 10 years.
