The international public committee on the “Biological Secutity” is setting up in Azerbaijan, Trend reports. The decision has been taken during the two-day regional forum on "The Public Involvement in Draft Law Discussions of the Bio-diversity in Azerbaijan” within the “East-East Program.
The appeal on taking accelerated measures for canceling future biological threats was sent to the government of Azerbaijan at the forum with participation of experts from Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and Kirgiziya.
The Baku Declaration adopted by the participants notes according to the Convention on biological diversity protection spreading of products with the genetically modified organisms (GMO) is banned.
