РђZERBAIJAN AND TURKEY TO EXPAND COOPERATION IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION SPHERE
Рђzerbaijan and Turkey will expand cooperation in the field of the religious education, the prospects of which have been discussed lately during the visit of the chairman of the state committee on works with religious structures of Azerbaijan Rafik Aliyev to Turkey, the state committee told Trend.
The visit has been performed at the invitation of the Vagf chairman on religious issues of Turkey, Doctor Ali Bardagogli. Within the visit Aliyev met with Bardagogli, with the Ankara mufti.
Aliyev and Bardagogli discussed issues related to the mechanisms of the protocol вЂњOn cooperation in the field of the religious educationвЂќ, signed in 2003 between the two state structures.
The AzerbaijanвЂ™s state committeeвЂ™s head informed the Turkish side on the activities of the theology department that functions in Azerbaijan since 1992, told him on the existing problems. Decision on holding twice a year expertsвЂ™ meetings for discussions of the issues for the protocol implementation was taken.
The state committeeвЂ™s chairman Aliyev had also a number of meetings at the Centre of Islamic Studies in Istanbul, with the Azerbaijani students getting education in Turkey.
