11 buildings and additional classrooms for 24 schools were constructed in 2005 in accordance with the state program, Misir Mardanov, the Azerbaijani Education Minister, said to a conference, Trend reports.
The Minister underlined that the Heydar Aliyev Fund constructs new educational buildings for 132 schools being in emergency condition.
He noted that the Ministry plans to construct 8 buildings and additional classrooms for 22 schools in Baku and the Absheron peninsula taking into consideration closeness at the schools and migration.
Touching upon the traditional conference of teachers on starting of new academic year the Minister stressed that teachers should be informed about changes expecting in the new academic year and work done in the education sphere last year.
Mardanov also mentioned some defects made at the implementation of the state program on development for personnel provision at secondary schools for 2005-2009.
He said that the activities of the Ministry and additional education division in this direction was not in due level and gave instructions on liquidation of the defects. The Ministry currently works on increase of the salary of the teachers working in the remotes.
