Оmbudsmen of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tatarstan Elmira Sulemanova and Rashit Vagizov viewed the possibilities for development of cooperation in the human rights defense of the citizens of both countries, the Azerbaijan ombudsman’s office told Trend.
The meeting took place in the framework of the Tatarstan ombudsman’s visit to Azerbaijan. The sides discussed the issues of setting up an effective cooperation in protection the rights of the citizens who temporarily reside in Azerbaijan and Tatarstan.
Elmira Suleymanova came out with a number of proposals on introducing changes to the existing agreement on cooperation between the ombudsmen of Azerbaijan and Tatarstan. The sides also discussed practical steps on defense of the citizens’ violated rights and exchanged the experience.
