The Nasimy district court of Baku made a sentence on 2-month arrest of Fikrat Yusifov, the former Finance Minister, lawyer Adil Ismayilov told

“The sitting under the chairmanship of Maharram Zulfugarov was held without my participation due to my protest against the court. It made a sentence on sanctioning of 2-month arrest in regard to Yusifov. I have not been invited to the interrogation for three days and as far as I know he doesn’t want me to be his lawyer,” he said.
The brother of the Ex-Minister, Ilham Yusifov confirmed that they intended to conclude agreement with new lawyer. He said that the Ex-Minister was kept in the cell of Central Department on Struggle with Organized Crime under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Yusifov, detained on 16 October as suspect, is accused of accession to power by force, illegal arm possession and other criminal acts.
