Law-defender meets with arrested relatives of ADP chairman

Elchin Behbudov, the chairman of the Committee against Tortures, met with the arrested relatives of Rasul Guliyev, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) on Friday, Trend reports.

“We carried out a monitoring of some prisons to get familiar with
keeping conditions of the people arrested during the events taken place on 17 October. 32 people, including Guliyev’s nephew Etibar Guliyev, are kept at prison in so called Gara shahar (Black town) of Baku. Guliyev as other prisoners did not complain of keeping conditions. He said that the police use force against him only during the determination,” he noted.

The next monitoring was carried out at the prison in Binagadi district of Baku. “There are 19 people, including 2 journalists. Nobody complained of keeping conditions< Behbudov underlined.

He also met with other relative of ADP chairman, Muhammad Gafarov, who is kept in Azizbayov Police Department. He reported that the police used force against him at determination.
