“Hajiaga Nuri, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Islam Party, waits for the reply from the European Court on Human Rights,” lawyer Chingiz Guliyev told Trend.
Guliyev noted that the European Court on Human Rights did not set to consideration of the complaint. “The court will address to us before the consideration of the complaint. We will annul the complaint in this time,” he stressed. According to Guliyev, the European Court on Human Rights has not been informed about the 21 October sentence of the Azerbaijani Constitutional Court on restoration of Nuri’s rights as the candidate to deputies.
Guliyev also said that they made a decision to wait for the results of the elections. “The pre-election campaign of Nuri started 40 days later due to suit. He was subjected to moral damage. Therefore, we decided to delay annulment of the complaints,” the lawyer stated.
