“ I’m in good form and can successfully play in the World Championship in Istanbul ,’the Azerbaijani grand master, Shahriyar Mamadyarov told Trend on the eve of the competitions.
“In my opinion, Ukrainian players will be strong rivals, but it is necessary to take into consideration Azerbaijani sportsmen Vugar Hashimov and Nijad Mammadov. I’m sure they will also seek after golden medal, which will give opportunity to play at the World Cup,” he said.
The current youth championship will be the last one for Mammadyarov due to the age limit.
