The Azerbaijani Committee on Tortures prepares a repot for 2005. The reports includes materials on 80 tortures on the base of appeals, as well as monitoring held in prisons, isolation wards under subordination of the Interior Ministry, military guardhouses, closed compulsory hospitals under the Health Ministry, the Committee told Trend. There are women and children among the people subjected to tortures.
The report does not reflect facts of death in law-enforcement bodies due their absence in 2005. The main registered tortures are electric current, beating heels, pulling out nails. The facts were mainly registered in law-enforcement bodies.
The report 5th in line will be sent to UN, CE, OSCE, World Organization Against Torture and Azerbaijani government.
