Azerbaijan proposes to apply single quota on fishing in Caspian Sea

“Azerbaijan proposes to apply a single quota on fishing in the Caspian Sea,”Husseyn Baghirov, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, told Trend.

“We propose to increase the Azerbaijan’s quota up to the level of other countries or decrease their quota down ours,” he underlined.

The Azerbaijan’s quota on sturgeon fishing for 2006 was reduced by 8% by the meeting of the Committee on Caspian Marine Resources held in Astana. The total quota of the Capian countries was reduced by 23.2%.
