The Milli Majlis commission on culture works on preparation of Culture Code, MP Nizami Jafarov, the chairman of the commission, told Trend.
Jafarov said that adoption of the code was one of the important criteria for the Azerbaijans culture and fine art. Our goal is to work up collection of laws, regulating this sphere. There is great necessity of Culture Code in the existence of Criminal and Elections Codes, he stressed. The chairman of the commission added that the work on the bill on culture was over. Even if the law was adopted long time ago, some items were to change due to their inconsistency with modern time, he noted. Jafarov reported that besides this document, the commission worked on national culture development concept.
We also plan adoption of the bill on theatre, he said. Jafarov also touched upon necessity of culture channel, propagandizing successes of the Azerbaijans classic culture. It is only initiative. Though implementation of the initiative requires a lot of time, it will be great contribution into our culture, as the current TV channels do not propagandize the Azerbaijani culture in due level, he underlined. The chairman of the commission noted that he would prepare document determining necessity of such channel to submit it to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
It should be mentioned the sitting of the commission on culture will be held next week to discuss bill on culture and proposal on opening of culture channel.
